Queen of Sheba-being confronted by the world about a decision to follow Christ

The Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon

10 When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions.  Arriving at Jerusalem with a very great caravan—with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones—she came to Solomon and talked with him about all that she had on her mind.  Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her. When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built,  the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at[a] the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed.
She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.  But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard. How happy your people must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.”
Solomon is represented by the Lord here, and we are the servants to the King.  And just like "the world" -The Queen is like those unbelievers in our lives that are a success by the world's standards. She comes to test Solomon much like how the world comes to test the Lord through us, His servants.

AS I get ready to face my giants, and admit I have some anxiety, because I know that I will be tested by the unbelievers in my life that are successful by the world's standards, I am greatly encouraged by this chapter.

First off, as I was taught, everything we're doing needs to be put back onto the Lord (for example, this is GOD'S plan for our life, we love Jesus and trust Him with our family)

Verse 3: "Nothing was too difficult for the King to explain to her."

Putting it all back on God and knowing that He can handle any test that the skeptic throws at Him is so comforting. When we get challenged by those around us we can rest in His ability to handle anything that someone has against Him, any test, any scoffing, anything. Nothing is too hard, or challenging for Him.

I love this part: when she saw for herself, that first off, any test of doubt or ridicule was diffused, and second, all of the goodness of the Lord and how that was bestowed on His servants and how happy and content his servants were, it "took her breath away"! Wow! I love that even though a missionary appears to not have much, that if someone were to see past that, they would see that we are content to be humble servants of the most High! And they would see a God that takes care of His servants. It may not look like the rest of the world, in fancy homes, cars and the like, but it's something much better and much more eternal!

Verse 7: "Your wisdom and prosperity far exceed the report I heard. How happy are your men. How happy are these servants of yours who always stand in your presence hearing your wisdom" (yes, that's us!) As a servant, we must and we love to stay in the presence of the Lord, listening for His wisdom, experiencing all that He has for us- how content it makes us! How peaceful is makes us!
Queen Sheba says "Blessed be the Lord your God! He delighted in you and put you on the throne of Israel because of the Lord's eternal love for Israel. He has made you King to carry out justice and righteousness."

One day every knee will bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. His saints will be seated with Him. Those who rejected God will then understand that whatever we had sacrificed to follow Him was indeed more than worth it. They will be sorrowful over the inability to see what we already can see. And they will regret pouring their lives into things that were only temporary.

There is joy and peace in living in such an uncertain and, by the worlds standards "unsuccessful lifestyle". God chose us to live this way, to live radically for Him so that the world around us can someday (hopefully sooner rather then later) have their breath taken away by the goodness of God and how amazing being His servant actually is.
Leaving the world's system to be always standing in the presence of God to carry out justice and righteousness in His name is actually better then "had been reported to them."

I pray the Lord be magnified as we are tested, so that they too, can be left speechless by all that the Lord is doing in all of His servants all over the world.

Isaiah 40:9
You who bring good news to Zion,
go up on a high mountain.
You who bring good news to Jerusalem,[c]
lift up your voice with a shout,
lift it up, do not be afraid;
say to the towns of Judah,
    “Here is your God!”
10 See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm.
See, his reward is with him,
    and his recompense accompanies him.
11 He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.

He is a good shepherd, and a good King!

Facing Giants

Facing Giants: Warriors for Christ

Joshua 14:12
Caleb had great faith in God despite the doubters around him. The Anakim giants did not intimidate him.  He had seen God do great things in the midst of big obstacles.

I feel like we are only beginning to see God do great things in our lives and I pray that we drown out the giants of fear and doubt around us.  And, like Caleb, we ask for God to give us the mountain instead of the lush green valleys. Let us desire to have a heart more like God and want the challenge rather then the easy way.

I think that the seductiveness of the lush valleys is even stronger when you are responsible for raising children.  But I pray that God helps me remember that my girls are safer in His hands then they are anywhere else.  I pray that God helps me be obedient above all else.

Joshua 1:7

God is giving the promised land to His people, but he tells Joshua to obey the law and not to turn to the right or left.

We must keep ourselves Holy and set apart.  Ephesians 1:4

God promised that Joshua and the people rewards as long as they
meditated on the law day and night.

I pray that I keep my eyes focused on Jesus and that I desire eternal rewards and blessings, not worldly success and prosperity.

Joshua 1:16
...all that you commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

I love this heart of obedience.

Lord, I pray against the spirit of rebellion and the giants of fear and doubt before us. I pray that we are made into Warriors of Christ, taking down our giants in Jesus name.

(By the way, I created the graphic at the top a year ago, not really knowing what it would be for. It was just a vision that was given to me. Almost a year later I decided to put the graphic on our shirts in our Gospel Shirts shop. They are available for purchase HERE. All proceeds go towards helping our
family becoming mercy missionaries. Thank you so much)

Our Journey to Virginia

So since we need to travel to Virginia, we thought we'd make a little adventure out of it. We're giving ourselves over 2 weeks to make the trek across the country. Please pray that our truck has no major issues on this long travel. It is an older truck and it will be pulling our 33' 5th wheel. We have never traveled very far with it, so needless to say, we're just a little nervous. But we also have faith that God is paving the way for us, and will be with us every step of the way.

Our first stop is to go from Bullhead, AZ to Chandler. It will be my first time meeting some friends that Greg knows. I am excited to meet them as I have heard great things about them, and know that they will be a great encouragement to us as we journey onward.

From Arizona we'll be heading into Texas to stop by and see some of our dear friends from Big Bear, the Barneys. Again, it will be great to have their blessings, prayers and encouragement for the trip and our new lives as missionaries.

After Texas, we are going to continue along through the swamp lands and along the Gulf of Mexico, and this is what I am really looking forward to. I can't wait to see the beaches along the coast of the gulf and into Florida.

From Florida we head upward to South Carolina. We will be staying at an RV park in Santee, which is ironic, because Santee (California) is where we started our RV journey.

I am hoping to meet up with a friend, a brother in the faith and missionary who is a Pastor. I happened to meet him through Instagram on a YWAM page. I started reading his blog and bought
his book "The Good Father" and it will be great to meet him face to face and talk to him about how hard it was to move his family to Congo, Africa in the 80's. And about his current missionary work in Mali.

And of course, after that we finally arrive in Virginia and begin our training through CRI's ARC school to become mercy missionaries.

We covet everyone's prayers as we begin this journey in the middle of August. We promise to create updates videos along the way, which will be posted to our youtube channel.

Blessings and love to all,

Do you love worship music?

Do you love worship music?
I believe that listening to worship and Christian music is part of surrounding ourselves with the belt of truth. Everything we put inside of us is making up this belt. I don't think it's being legalistic to say that watching secular movies/shows and listening to secular music works to weaken this belt that is suppose to surround us. When the belt is weak, of if you prefer, the fortress walls around us are weakened, it allows for the enemy to creep in.

I'm not saying I'm perfect at this, I am always a work at progress. What I preach I also need to hear and apply. Every once in a while I will watch a secular (Marvel) movie or a secular show. But over the years, God has worked in me to lead me away from the shows that I used to enjoy and instead feed my brain with all things that matter to God. And He can do the same for you! Allow Him to lead you!

And I notice when I'm at the gym in my classes, and I'm listening to the secular, worldly music that often contains subject matters and language that is highly offensive to me and my God, I notice that I have to pray so much harder and I feel my spirit getting weaker. And my spirit can't stand it.
Because I can't not listen to the lyrics, my ears are opened and I am awake! This is why we need to be so careful about what goes into us. Because our eyes and ears have been opened by God! We once were blind, but now we see. We once were deaf, but now we hear!

And this is why, when God tells us to put on the full armor of God, the analogy for truth is a belt. God has been pressing this part of the armor on me, because I feel God's burden for the Christians around me who aren't completely surrounding themselves with truth. Those who have no problem listening to secular music and watching secular movies and shows regularly. Our walls are weakened when we do this. And weakened walls are easy access for the enemy. And, again, I also must heed God as He works on me as well.

This is a war, we must keep our walls strong in truth!
And so I ask again, do you love worship music? Do you love to be led by music into the throne room of God?
Do you surround yourself with truth at all times when you have control over it?

This song I recently heard stood out to me, and I just wanted to listen to it over and over. It's a song that makes me want to fall on my knees and weep and worship before the King!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do
Be blessed today!
And don't forget to begin your day by putting on the full armor!!

Unreached People Groups

This is a great resource for learning about the unreached people groups around the world. There is an app you can download and every day you check it to see who the unreached people group of the day is.

You can read about the people group. It gives statistics, and ministry obstacles, outreach ideas and what you can pray for specifically plus more.

Not only that, but if you begin to feel God stir in your heart to do more then pray, there are ways you can get further involved. :

Choosing the Extraordinary Life

If you have the youversion bible app, I recommend this study!
It has been so great so far! I havent finished it yet, but just had to share.
We were made for a purpose greater then we may think! It is of the utmost importance to discover your true purpose! For it is your mission from the Lord, and when you discover it, you will find the abundant life that Jesus speaks of in John 10:10

I'm reading the @YouVersion plan 'Choosing The Extraordinary Life'. Check it out here:
